Masai Mara National Reserve.
The Masai Mara National Reserve also most popular as Masai Mara is remarkably Africa’s most treasured wilderness areas. Set in the Southwestern Kenya just at the border with Tanzania, The Mara Reserve is an ancient protected area established in 1948. It is an expansive conservancy area occupying over 1500sq.kms of land area and takes its name from the red-cloaked Maasai people.
Masai Mara is popular for the Great Migration Experience that occurs once a year, a unique wildlife encounter involving millions of wildebeest accompanied by other grazers as they move across the Mara River. Amboseli National Park
Lying suitably in the southeastern Nairobi, 240kms drive; Amboseli National Park is Kenya’s second most popular conservation area. It comes after the Mara Reserve a home to the wildebeest. Amboseli has existed since 1968 when it was officially gazetted as a reserve and later became a national park in 1974.
Amboseli National Park is a compact park sprawling in an area of 400sq.kms. It offers refuge to incredible species of wildlife including the large herds of elephants; waterbucks, giraffes, cheetahs, impalas, lions, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, blue wildebeest, hippos. There are also 400 bird species including the white bellied and black bustards, chestnut bellied and black faced sang rouse, Zanzibar bishop, Madagascar pond heron.
Tsavo National Parks
The Tsavo National Parks; Tsavo West and Tsavo East are considerably Kenya’s most extensive parks. Combined together, the 2 protected areas make up 4% of Kenya’s total area and they consist of savannas, massive lava-rock plateau, rivers, volcanic hills, waterfalls and huge profusion of wildlife.
