Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

After pick-up, you may take an optional city tour of Nairobi before starting the journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is famous for flamingos that turn the lake shore pink.

Arrive in the afternoon, check in to your lodge, and enjoy lunch. Later, go for an evening game drive to spot animals like rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, flamingos, bushbucks, and others.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and transfer to Masai Mara

Start with an early morning game drive where you can see animals like Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, baboons, impalas, waterbucks, hippos, colobus monkeys, hyenas, rhinos, lions, and leopards.

After the game drive, head to Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the best wildlife viewing areas in Kenya. Along the way, enjoy views of the Rift Valley.

Arrive in the evening, check in to your lodge, and have dinner and overnight.

Day 3 and 4: Full-day Masai Mara safari

Spend two full days exploring the Masai Mara plains. Spot the Big Five (elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, lions, and leopards) along with giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, topis, elands, impalas, and others.

You will witness the wildebeest migration as thousands of wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River. This event attracts predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and vultures.

You may also choose an optional hot air balloon ride for aerial views of the park. Enjoy picnic lunches by the Mara River and visit animal viewpoints.

Day 5: Cross to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania

Leave Masai Mara and cross the border into Tanzania, heading to Serengeti National Park. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the local language.

Arrive in the evening, check in to your lodge, and prepare for the next day’s activities.

Day 6 and 7: Game drive in Serengeti National Park

Spend two days exploring Serengeti. Go on game drives with an option of a hot air balloon ride. Look for animals like lions, cheetahs, elephants, hippos, and others.

Witness the wildebeest migration as the herds cross the Grumeti River. This attracts predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. Enjoy picnic lunches at animal viewpoints and spot birds, butterflies, and beautiful landscapes.

Day 8: Transfer from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Start the day with a game drive to spot any animals you may have missed. Then transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, known for the largest unfilled volcanic crater in the world.

Hike along the crater rim, enjoy a picnic lunch with great views, and spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, and various birds. Later, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Head to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive and then transfer to Tarangire National Park in the Manyara region. This park is named after the Tarangire River, which supplies water to the animals.

Arrive in the evening and go for a game drive to see zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, hyenas, warthogs, elands, elephants, buffaloes, and more.

Watch the sunset before heading to your lodge for overnight.

Day 10: Tarangire to Arusha for your flight back home

Enjoy a morning game drive, then drive to Arusha with a stop for lunch along the way. You will be dropped off at the airport or at your hotel in Arusha.
