Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. On the way, stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos. Masai Mara is the most famous park in Kenya, well known for the wildebeest migration and a large number of wild animals.
The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours and is very rewarding. On arrival, visit a Masai village to learn about their culture. Enjoy their traditional homes called Manyattas, music, dances, and local meals.
Day 2: Full-day game drive in Masai Mara
Spend the whole day on a game drive exploring the open plains with acacia trees. Look for the Big Five animals: lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and rhinos. You will also see wildebeests, giraffes, warthogs, hyenas, zebras, gazelles, cheetahs, hippos, and more.
Visit water sources like riverbanks where animals gather to drink. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Cross to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park, one of the best wildlife parks in Africa. It attracts many tourists from around the world because of its large number of animals and birds. It is also famous for the annual wildebeest migration as the animals move toward Masai Mara.
The drive takes about 4 hours. On arrival, have lunch and go for a game drive. Later, check into your lodge located in the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Serengeti exploration day
Enjoy a full day exploring Serengeti National Park. Your game drive starts around 6 am and ends around 6 pm. You will enjoy sunrise, bush breakfast, picnic lunch, and sunset, all offering great photo opportunities.
See the wildebeest migration if traveling between June and September. Also look for birds, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, gazelles, zebras, cheetahs, giraffes, and many others.
Day 5: Game drive in Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. This is a very special place with plenty of wildlife. Look for black rhinos, elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and more.
The views are very beautiful, perfect for photography. You will enjoy the sight of the crater, open grasslands, and the sunrise and sunset. After the game drive, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Arusha and departure
Leave Ngorongoro in the morning with a game drive on the way. Spot more animals like elephants, buffaloes, lions, rhinos, leopards, and others. Then continue to Arusha, one of the main towns in Tanzania, where you will be dropped off to mark the end of the 6 Days Maasai Mara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Safari.
