Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Fly from Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airstrip to board a flight to Masai Mara National Reserve. This park covers an area of 1,510 square kilometers and is one of the largest wildlife areas in Kenya.
You will arrive in the mid-morning and start a game drive to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, gazelles, and more. Enjoy a picnic lunch, then continue with the game drive. In the evening, head to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full-day game drive in Mara
Spend the day exploring the wide open plains of Mara on a full-day game drive with breakfast and a picnic lunch. You will enjoy a bush breakfast, beautiful sunrise and sunset views, and wildlife sightings. Expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, rhinos, buffaloes, crocodiles, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and birds like storks and vultures. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Fly to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and game drive
After breakfast, enjoy a short game drive as you head to the airstrip for your flight to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. This park is located in northern Tanzania and shares a border with Maasai Mara in Kenya.
Serengeti covers 14,763 square kilometers and is home to many animals including wildebeests, lions, zebras, elephants, leopards, gazelles, rhinos, and others. You will have a game drive upon arrival before heading to your lodge.
Day 4: Full-day game drive
Start the day with an early morning game drive to look for wildlife, including large groups of wildebeests and zebras. You may also spot predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas.
There is an option to take a hot air balloon ride for a bird’s-eye view of the savannah and the animals below. This is a great chance to take beautiful photos and create lasting memories.
Day 5: Fly to Arusha and departure flight
Enjoy a morning activity if time allows, then transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Arusha. From there, you will connect to your departure flight back home, marking the end of your 5 Days Maasai Mara & Serengeti Flying Safari.
