35 Days Kenya Tanzania Wildlife with Kilimanjaro Hiking, Mombasa and Zanzibar Beach is one of the longest vacation that will lead you to Swahili Land (Kenya and Tanzania) in East Africa. Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1. Arrival and transfer to the hotel
Upon arrival, be warmly welcomed by our driver guide who will greet and meet with you, give a briefing about the whole safari and then transfer to the hotel in Nairobi where you will have dinner and spend overnight.
Day 2. Transfer to Aberdare National Park and game drive
You will start your first day by having a delicious breakfast at your hotel and check-out, you will arrive in the afternoon hours, check-in the lodge, have lunch and head for an evening game drive. You will spot some animals like lions, leopards, wild dogs, forest hogs, bushbucks, olive baboons, you will enjoy the spectacular view of Aberdare ranges, you will later return to the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight.
Day 3. Game drive and transfer to Ol Pajeta Conservancy
Arise in the morning, have breakfast and get to the jungles to find when the animals are very active. Game drive is always good in the early morning between 6:30 am and 10 am, this is when the animals are looking for fresh grass, and nocturnal animals going back to their hiding places. Later return to the lodge, check-out and head to OI Pajeta Conservancy.
Arrive at the time for lunch, check-in your lodge accommodation, have lunch and go for evening game drive. OI Pajeta Conservancy is the only park in Kenya where you can find Chimpanzees. You will visit Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary for tracking chimpanzees, then continue with game viewing to spot elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, antelopes, bush backs among other wildlife.
Day 4. Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve and game drive
Arise in the morning, have breakfast and check-out of the lodge and head to Maasai Mara which is the Kenya’s capital of wildlife. The park is a home to beautiful open Savannah plans, wildlife including the Big 5 and these are lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants. Arrive in the afternoon time, check-in the lodge, have lunch and later head to the jungle for game drive. You will spot some animal species like cheetahs, lions, leopards and these are the Big cats in the jungle, you will spot other animals like wildebeests, zebras, Mara giraffes, gazelles, antelopes, impalas, hartebeests to mention but a few. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 & 6. Full day game in Maasai Mara
The 5th and 6th days are the best days for you to explore Mara National Park. Wake up early, have breakfast and get lost in the jungle, you will be encountering different wildlife for example lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos and these are the Big 5. You will spot other wildlife like giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, wildebeests, gazelles, antelopes, impalas, hartebeests, topis, Oribis, birds, beautiful sceneries.
Witness the migration of wildebeests and zebras traversing River Mara going to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to look for green pastures. Enjoy picnic lunch, visit animal view points, kopjes among others.
Day 7. Game drive and Fly to Amboseli National Park
You will wake up in the morning, have breakfast and check-out of the lodge. Head to the jungle for a game drive and get a chance to see some animal species that you missed in the previous game drive. Immediately fly to Amboseli National Park, a destination known for inhabiting large herds of elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, and others.
Arrive in the afternoon, check-in the lodge, have lunch and go for evening game. You will spot some herds of elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions till sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8. Game drive and fly to Mombasa
You will arise in the morning, have breakfast and go for a morning game drive to catch the animals when they are very active in the morning. Return to the lodge, check-out and transfer to an airstrip where you will board a domestic flight to Mombasa.
Be received by our driver representative, who will pick you from the airstrip and take you to the hotel where you will spend an overnight. You will enjoy the spectacular view of the Ocean waters while you are at your room balcony. Have dinner and overnight.
Day 9. Full day Excursion to Fort Jesus and Old town tour
You will rise for a lazy breakfast, meet your guide of the day and head to Fort Jesus and Old town. You will enjoy walking from Fort Jesus through narrow Old streets and the markets. Fort Jesus was built in 1593 and 1596 by the Portuguese and this served as the place of safety for Portuguese. You will enjoy lunch en-route, return to the hotel in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 10. Beach activities and fly to Nairobi. Connecting flight to Arusha in Tanzania
You will rise in the early morning, have breakfast and embark on the beach activities like swimming, glass bottomed boat trips, snorkeling, jet skiing, kayaking to mention but a few. You will later return to the hotel, checkout and fly to Arusha in northern Tanzania.
In Arusha, you will be met by our driver representative in Tanzania, they will brief you about this long Safari and then transfer to the hotel in Arusha where you will spend an overnight stay. When you arrive in Tanzania, you will first hike Kilimanjaro Mountain thereafter you will visit national parks for animal viewing and scenic.
Day 11. Transfer to Machame Camp (4-6 hours)
You will wake up in the early morning, get breakfast, check-out of the lodge in Arusha and set off for Machame Camp. Drive through Machame village, meet your fellow hikers at Machame Gate, receive your hiking permits. You later set off through slippery and muddy grounds, here we recommend to use Gaiters and trekking poles. You will arrive at Machame Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 12. Transfer to Shira Camp 3-4 hours
You arise in the morning, have breakfast set off for Shira Camp. You will hike a rocky ridge going through a valley, you will turn to the West to the river’s gorge, arriving in the afternoon hours, check-in and have lunch, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 13. Transfer to Lava Tower then to Barranco Camp 5-6 hours
On this day, you will wake up for breakfast and set off for Barranco Camp. You will descend into alpine desert as you head to Kibo peak and here the Western glaciers become visible clearly. You will enjoy a picnic lunch, proceed to ascend to Lava Tower before you proceed to Southeast and this point is called Shark’s Tooth, after the tower you continue to a second junction which will lead you to Arrow Glaciers. Then proceed to Barranco Camp for dinner and overnight. This point is good for acclimatization.
Day 14. Transfer to Karanga Camp then to Barafu Camp 6-8 hours
After a scrumptious breakfast, set off for yet another level via a steep ridge of Barranco wall, you will go through Karanga Valley and you proceed to the junction that connects to Mweka trail. You will continue to Barafu Camp and when you reach here, you will have completed the Southern Circuit and you will be able to see the summit from different angles. You will have early dinner as you are getting ready for a midnight or 2 am trek. Dinner and overnight at Barafu Camp.
Day 15. Transfer to summit then to Mweka Camp
You will set off at midnight or 2 am, you will continue hiking between Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, you will turn to North-western direction and descend through heavy scree towards Stella point on a crater rim. This trek is so challenging both physically and mentally, at this point you will start to see the sunrise and the fast hikers may see sunrise from the summit. After Stella point, you will go through snow and you will trek for 1 hour to the Summit.
When you arrive at the summit, you will be on top of Africa and this peak is called Uhuru Peak. You will celebrate, take pictures, shed some tears of joy and then descend to Barafu Camp, rest briefly as you wait for lunch and thereafter proceed to descend to Mweka Camp. You will start encountering slippery ground and you will be advised to use Gaiters and trekking poles. Arrive at Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight and this will be your last night at the Mountain.
Day 16. Transfer to Mweka gate then to Moshi 3-4 hours
On this day, you will wake up in the early morning, have breakfast and say a farewell to Mweka Camp and head to Mweka gate where you will receive your hiking certificate. You will proceed to Mweka village where you will meet your guide then he will drive you to the hotel in Moshi. You arrive in the afternoon, have lunch and overnight stay.
Day 17. Full day relaxation at the Hotel
On this day, you will just have your delicious meals at the hotel, trying to restore the energy for the next activities.
Day 18. Fly to Serengeti National Park and game drive
Arise in the morning, have breakfast, check-out of the lodge and fly to Serengeti National Park. rrive in the afternoon, check-in the lodge for lunch and there after go for an evening game drive. You will be looking for herds of elephants, buffaloes, leopards, zebras, gazelles, cheetahs among other wildlife. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 19 & 20. Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park
These 2 days are the best for you to explore wildlife in Serengeti National Park, you will wonder how beautiful the endless plains roll with beautiful wildlife that decorate the open savannah grasslands. Get an opportunity to see the mighty migration of wildebeests traversing River Grumeti. This migration assures you to spot predators like lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals always in the close vicinity of their preys, enjoy the picnic lunch, you will visit so many kopjes and animal view points.
Day 21. Check-out and transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
Wake up in the morning, have breakfast and go for a game drive to spot animals wildlife that you might have missed in the game drive. Later return to the lodge, check-out and transfer to Ngorongoro Crater National Reserve. Have lunch picnic, proceed to Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest crater in the whole world, you will proceed with the game drive when you arrive in the park at around lunchtime.
Descend to the crater which is 600 meters down, you will find herds of elephants, buffaloes, rhinos and hippopotamus and birdlife as well on the shores of the crater. After that off beaten path, you retire to the lodge, check-in, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 22. Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park and boat cruise
Arise in the morning, get breakfast and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. You will do a morning game drive to find animals when they are very active. Herds of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, hartebeests, topis all looking for fresh pastures, and as well meet nocturnal animals like hyenas, jackals, leopards, going back to their hiding places. You will later bid farewell to Ngorongoro arrive at Lake Manyara National Park in the time for lunch, check-in the lodge, have lunch and head to the evening boat cruise.
Spot hippopotamus, crocodiles, flamingos, African Jacana, glossy Ibis, among other birds, you will later return to the lodge after the sunset, have dinner and overnight.
Day 23. Game drive and transfer to Tarangire National Park
Arise in the morning, grab a cup of coffee/tea and head to the jungle for a game drive. Lake Manyara is famous for tree climbing lions, therefore you will not miss to find a whole pride in the tree branches taking cover.
Spot other animals like elephants, buffaloes, leopards, kudus, to mention but a few. You will return to the lodge afterwards, have lunch and check-out of the lodge and head to Tarangire National Park. You arrive in the evening hours, check-in the lodge, have dinner and overnight.
Day 24 & 25. Full day Tarangire excursion
In these 2 days, you will spend them exploring the beauty of Lake Manyara National Park, you will do game drives in the open savannah grasslands to catch the big cats like lions, leopards and cheetahs how they hunt. Enjoy birding experience since the park is a haven of birds. You will spot wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, Dik-dik, lesser kudus, baboons, elands, oribis, topis, to mention but a few. You will be having picnic lunch at the animal spot points to capture those magical movements of animals.
Day 26. Tarangire to Arusha National Park
Arise in the morning for sweet breakfast and check-out of the lodge and head to Arusha National Park. The drive is about 4-5 hours but it’s rewarding with stopovers for scenic views and picnic lunch. You will arrive in Arusha in the afternoon, check-in the lodge, have lunch and relax at the lodge.
Day 27&28. Full day game drives in Arusha National Park
Arise in the morning, have breakfast and head to the jungles to catch lions, leopards, hyenas, when they are winding up with night duties. You will spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, birds among others. Spot different birds, animals and incredible scenery. You will absolutely enjoy your 2 days in Arusha National Park.
Day 29. Check-out and transfer to Arusha town
Arise in the morning, have a delicious breakfast, check-out of the lodge and head to Arusha town. You will have lunch at one of the finest restaurants in the heart of Arusha. Check-in your hotel and have an overnight stay.
Day 30. Fly to Zanzibar
You will wake up for breakfast and check-out of the lodge, head to Arusha Airport for a flight to Zanzibar Island. You will be welcomed by our representative in Zanzibar who will take you to the hotel, have lunch and relax.
Day 31. Relaxation at the hotel
On this day, you will just have your meals served at your room balcony or at the swimming pool as you relax at your hotel.
Day 32. Visit stone town
Wake up at your time of convenience, enjoy breakfast, relax at the hotel and in the evening you head to Stone town which is also known as Mji Mkongwe. You will take a tour of the old city, visit different markets, interact with locals, taste local food and learn about the local traditions. Return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 33. Beach activities in Zanzibar
On this day, you will engage in beach activities like snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, walking on the white sand beaches, beach soccer, music, rock restaurant and prison island tour. You will enjoy lunch and dinner at the beach as you sip your favourite cocktail, admiring blue Ocean waters. Retire to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 34. Check-out and sail back to Dar es salaam.
Wake up for breakfast at leisure, check-out of the hotel and transfer to Dar es Salaam by speed boat. You will be welcomed by our driver representative at the docking point in Dar es Salaam as you tick off your last night in Tanzania. Have lunch at your hotel, relax, have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 35. City tour and departure
On your last day, you will wake up in the morning, have cosy breakfast and head out on a city tour around Dar Es Salaam. Visit different markets, craft shops to buy some souvenirs. Have lunch in the city, return to the hotel and check-out for your flight back home. This moment you will have created a big bond with everyone and we will miss you. The driver will drop you at the Airport and wish you a safest flight back home or to another destination.
