Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour

At Entebbe International Airport, meet your driver guide waiting with a name board. On the way to your hotel, enjoy a view of Lake Victoria, the deepest freshwater lake on Earth.

You will visit Owino Market, the National Museum, Buganda Road Craft Village, and other places. You might learn a few local phrases before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, drive about 5 to 6 hours to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, stop for about an hour at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see rhinos. White rhinos live only at this sanctuary in Uganda.

After lunch in Masindi Town, continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise

Have an early breakfast, then go on a 3-4 hour game drive in the northern part of the park. See whistling acacia trees, Egyptian geese, lions, leopards, buffaloes, different antelopes, warthogs, giraffes, and more.

Your guide will help you recognize animals by their look, sounds, and behavior, and you can take photos. After lunch, take a boat ride to the base of Murchison Falls, one of the most impressive waterfalls in the world.

On the Nile River, see hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and hear the loud water rushing through a narrow 7-meter gorge. End the day with dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Fly from Murchison to Bwindi Forest National Park

After breakfast and lunch, transfer to Pakuba airstrip for a flight to Bwindi National Park. Enjoy views of lush plantations on the way. End the day with dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and optional Batwa pygmies visit

After breakfast, pack your lunch and trekking gear, and go to the park headquarters. The ranger guides will explain rules before taking you into the forest.

The trek is on foot and lasts about 1 to 8 hours depending on how far the gorillas have moved. You will spend one hour with the gorillas, observing their behavior.

Seeing a giant silverback is unforgettable. Although it may seem scary, the guides ensure your safety.

Have lunch in the forest, then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Bwindi to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Volcanoes National Park. At the border post, clear customs, then stop for lunch.

In Rwanda, you will see zigzag roads, hills, and green vegetation. End the day with dinner and rest at the lodge.

Day 7: Golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Have breakfast at the lodge, then go to the park office for a briefing before golden monkey trekking. These small primates move fast, so you need patience to take good photos.

The trek lasts 1 to 4 hours, followed by one hour of observation and photography.

Return to the lodge for lunch, rest in the gardens, then dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Volcanoes to Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, check out and drive about 4 to 5 hours to Nyungwe National Park. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and passing homes on the way.

Check in at the lodge for lunch and optional activities. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk

Start with juice at the lodge, then take packed lunch for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe. Chimpanzees share about 98% of human DNA.

After a briefing by ranger guides, trek for 1 to 4 hours to find the chimpanzees. Spend an hour watching them play, feed, and care for their young.

After lunch, do a canopy walk with views of hills, treetops, and nearby villages. End the day with dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Nyungwe to Kigali and evening flight to Nairobi

After breakfast in Nyungwe, drive to Kigali with a stop at Nyanza King’s Palace for a cultural show. Then go to the airport for your flight to Nairobi.

In Nairobi, a company representative will meet you, give a briefing, and transfer you to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, enjoy a short Nairobi city tour visiting museums, landmarks, and markets. Practice your haggling skills! Have lunch in Nairobi, then drive 2 to 3 hours to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Full day wildlife viewing experience

After breakfast, go on a 3 to 4 hour game drive. See black and white rhinos, giraffes, baboons, warthogs, zebras, waterbucks, and more.

After lunch, spend the evening by the lake shore watching flamingos and other water birds. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 13: Transfer to Masai Mara Reserve

After breakfast, set off on a 4 to 6 hour drive to Masai Mara Reserve. Enjoy views of hills, farms, towns, and daily life along the way. Stop for lunch in Narok town.

Arrive at the lodge in the evening for dinner and rest.

Day 14: Game drive and Masai warriors experience

After breakfast, take a 3 to 4 hour game drive in the park. Look for cheetahs, gazelles, impalas, rhinos, lions, leopards, zebras, hyenas, wildebeests, and more.

After lunch, visit a Masai village for a cultural experience. Enjoy a community walk, stories, dances, songs, and traditional exhibitions.

Day 15: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, cross the Isebania border into Tanzania, with immigration checks. Drive about 6 to 8 hours to Serengeti, stopping for lunch on the way.

Check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Full day game drive

Have breakfast, then go on a full day game drive across the Serengeti plains. Eat lunch in the bush. Your guide will help you spot reptiles like pythons, predators like lions and leopards, vultures, monkeys, antelopes, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, gazelles, ostriches, and more.

Wild animals move freely, so luck helps to see them all. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Explore the Ngorongoro area

After breakfast, check out and drive about 3 to 4 hours to Ngorongoro Crater. On the way, stop at Olduvai Gorge to learn about early humans from fossils.

Arrive at your lodge, have lunch, and spend the afternoon on a guided nature walk. End the day with dinner and overnight.

Day 18: Sunrise game drive and departure to Arusha

Wake up at 6 a.m. for a sunrise game drive. Look for animals active at daybreak, especially the Big Five: lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos, and elephants.

After 3 to 4 hours, return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight. This marks the end of your safari.
