Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick-up and transfer to Serengeti National Park
Your safari driver will pick you up from the airport, greet you, and give a briefing. Then you will travel to Serengeti National Park, home to the Big Five: lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and rhinos.
Arrive in the afternoon, check in at the lodge, have lunch, and go for an evening game drive. Look for zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, gazelles, impalas, and other wildlife.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 & 3: Full day game drives in Serengeti National Park
Spend these two days exploring Serengeti. Visit different kopjes and animal viewing points. Spot buffaloes, elephants, zebras, rhinos, wildebeests, giraffes, gazelles, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, jackals, and vultures.
Watch wildebeests and zebras cross the Grumeti River. This migration attracts many predators like lions, leopards, hyenas, and cheetahs.
Enjoy picnic lunches and return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Game drive and transfer to Arusha
Start the day with a morning game drive to spot animals you may have missed. Look for kudus, zebras, cheetahs, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and elephants while temperatures are low and animals are active.
Then drive to Arusha, arrive in the evening, check in to the hotel, have dinner, and overnight.
Day 5: Flight to Nairobi
After breakfast, drive to Arusha Airport for your flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival, meet your driver-guide who will welcome you and give a briefing about Kenya.
Take a city tour to visit markets and the Nairobi Museum. Then check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve and evening game drive
After breakfast, check out and travel to Maasai Mara. Arrive in the afternoon, check in, have lunch, and enjoy an evening game drive.
Spot herds of elephants, buffaloes, lions, zebras, gazelles, and many birds. Return to the lodge after sunset for dinner and overnight.
Day 7 & 8: Full day game drives in Maasai Mara National Reserve
Wake early and set off with packed lunch to catch animals when they are active. See lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, rhinos, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, elands, topis, and many others.
From June to September, watch the great wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River. Enjoy the wide plains, visit kopjes, and have a picnic lunch overlooking the river.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park
Have breakfast, check out, and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in the afternoon, check in, have lunch, and go for an evening game drive.
Lake Nakuru is famous for flamingos that turn the shore pink. Spot Rothschild giraffes, reedbucks, lions, leopards, and both black and white rhinos. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Game drive and transfer to Naivasha
Start early with breakfast, then explore Lake Nakuru National Park on a morning game drive. See lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, and the flamingos along the lake.
Return to the lodge, check out, and travel to Naivasha. Arrive in the evening, check in, and have dinner.
Day 11: Game drive and transfer to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, take a game drive to Hell’s Gate Park, where you can walk, hike, or cycle while enjoying views of the Rift Valley escarpment.
Return to the lodge, check out, and drive to Amboseli National Park. Arrive late afternoon, check in, have lunch, and relax.
Day 12 & 13: Full day game drives in Amboseli National Park
Explore Amboseli’s savannah plains, home to lions, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, gazelles, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, many birds, and butterflies.
Enjoy the famous views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Have picnic lunches near animal viewing points. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 14: Transfer to Tsavo West National Park
Have breakfast, check out, and drive to Tsavo West National Park. Arrive in the evening, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 15: Full day game drive in Tsavo West National Park
Start early with breakfast, then go for a full day game drive. Spot lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, kudus, zebras, cheetahs, impalas, hartebeests, and topis.
Have a picnic lunch near Mzima Springs, where elephants, buffaloes, and black rhinos come for water. See crocodiles, hippos, and many water birds. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 16: Transfer to Tsavo East National Park
Have early breakfast, then travel to Tsavo East National Park, home to the “man-eaters,” lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, kudus, monkeys, and baboons.
Check in, have lunch, then enjoy an evening game drive. Return for dinner and overnight.
Day 17: Full day game drive in Tsavo East National Park
Wake early for breakfast, then a full day game drive. See lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, zebras, gazelles, cheetahs, wildebeests, and more. Enjoy beautiful scenery as your guide points out highlights.
Have a picnic lunch near Voi River, where many animals come to drink. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 18: Transfer back to Nairobi and departure
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi. Arrive in the afternoon, have lunch on the way, and depending on your flight schedule, your driver will drop you at the airport or hotel.
