Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

Depending on your location in Nairobi, you will be picked up by your driver guide for a short briefing about this safari.

Begin the journey in a comfortable safari vehicle with bottled drinking water provided as you head to Lake Nakuru National Park.

This park is famous for its flamingoes. Arrive in the afternoon, enjoy an en-route lunch, then go for a game drive where you may spot animals like black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and others.

You will also see birds like African fish eagles, lesser flamingoes, tawny eagles, green wood hoopoes, and pelicans. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and transfer to Lake Naivasha

Start the day with a morning game drive, then drive to Lake Naivasha. Enjoy beautiful views of the Rift Valley along the way.

Arrive in the afternoon, check in to your lodge, have lunch, then go for an evening game drive lasting about three hours.

Look out for hippos, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and waterbucks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game drive and transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Have another game drive in the morning to spot any animals you may have missed. After that, drive to Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Kenya’s best destinations for wildlife.

Masai Mara is home to the Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos – along with giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, gazelles, kudus, and more.

Arrive in the evening and check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 & 5: Full-day game drives in Masai Mara

Spend two full days exploring the plains of Masai Mara with game drives. You will enjoy picnic lunches at animal viewing points recommended by your guide.

Expect to see buffaloes, elephants, zebras, impalas, rhinos, giraffes, lions, leopards, jackals, and wildebeests.

If you visit between June and September, you will witness the great wildebeest migration. You can also visit the Mara River and various kopjes.

Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari for a unique view of the animals from above.

Day 6: Transfer to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, fly to Amboseli National Park, which is famous for its large herds of elephants and the beautiful view of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Arrive early and head straight into the park for a game drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch before checking in to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Full-day Amboseli National Park exploration

Spend the whole day on a game drive in Amboseli. You will stop at different points to view animals and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Expect to see elephants, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, gazelles, hippos, and more. Bird species include ibises, hornbills, fish eagles, herons, and egrets.

The day ends with a drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Head to Mombasa beaches

Leave Amboseli in the morning after breakfast and drive to Mombasa, a coastal city known for its beautiful beaches.

This is a long drive, but you will enjoy seeing the changing landscapes along the way.

Day 9: Beach activities

Enjoy a day of relaxing or taking part in beach activities such as swimming, snorkeling, boat cruises, fishing, or swimming with dolphins.

Day 10: Fly back to Nairobi, drop-off at the airport

After breakfast, fly from Mombasa back to Nairobi. On arrival, you will be dropped at the airport for your flight back home.
