Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and city tour in Arusha
Arrive at the airport and meet your driver guide. You will get a quick briefing about this safari. Then take a short city tour in Arusha to visit local markets, art and gallery centers, museums, and meet some locals.
Later, check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Arusha National Park and game drive
After breakfast, travel to Arusha National Park, the closest park to Arusha city. Take a boat cruise on Momella Lakes and enjoy short game drives. You may see hippos, elephants, buffalos, zebras, and wildebeests.
In the afternoon, check in to your lodge, have lunch, and go for an evening game drive to spot animals like elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeests, and antelopes.
Day 3: Transfer to Serengeti National Park and game drive
After breakfast, check out and drive to Serengeti National Park, home to the Big Five animals: lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos.
Serengeti is famous for the annual wildebeest migration, the largest animal movement in the world, which also attracts many predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, foxes, and other scavengers.
Arrive in the afternoon, check in to the lodge, have lunch, and go for an evening game drive.
Day 4 & 5: Game drives in Serengeti National Park
Spend two full days exploring the wide Serengeti plains on game drives. Watch predators hunt and witness the massive wildebeest migration.
See animals like leopards, lions, zebras, gazelles, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and buffalos.
Enjoy picnic lunches near the Mara River and spot large groups of migrating wildebeests and zebras.
Day 6: Game drive and transfer to Ngorongoro Crater area
Wake up early for a morning game drive to see animals that are active at dawn. Then drive to Ngorongoro Crater, a special place known for the largest extinct volcanic caldera in the world.
The crater is home to many animals including the Big Five, wildebeests, crocodiles, hippos, and more.
Arrive in the evening, check in to your lodge, have dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 7: Full day in Ngorongoro Crater
Explore the crater floor on a full-day game drive. You may see lions, elephants, zebras, flamingos, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, jackals, and many bird species.
In the evening, hike to the crater rim for a great view of this large caldera and its wildlife.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Manyara National Park, located between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley.
This park covers about 325 square kilometers and is known for wildlife including rare tree-climbing lions, which can also be found in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda.
Upon arrival, take a nature walk and see animals like lions, baboons, leopards, elephants, buffalos, impalas, and giraffes.
Day 9: Full day in Lake Manyara National Park
Spend a full day exploring Lake Manyara by game drives. Spot many birds such as lovebirds, rufous-tailed weavers, crowned hornbills, grey crowned cranes, flamingos, crested and guinea fowls.
Also see animals like impalas, giraffes, baboons, leopards, and elephants. You will have morning, evening, and night game drives.
Day 10: Departure flight
After breakfast, transfer back to Arusha. From there, catch your flight home, marking the end of your safari in Tanzania.
