Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Masai Mara
Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. Stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint for photos. The drive takes about 5 to 6 hours.
After lunch, head for an evening game drive where you will see animals like elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, impalas, and many types of birds.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 & 3: Masai Mara National Reserve exploration
Spend two full days exploring the plains of Masai Mara with game drives. You will witness the annual wildebeest migration along with large numbers of zebras.
Enjoy special moments like sunrise, bush breakfast, picnic lunches, and sunset drives.
You will also spot many birds such as Ayres’s hawk eagle, African darter, saddle-billed stork, white-headed vulture, martial eagle, crowned eagle, blue quail (a rare visitor), yellow-billed oxpecker, great egret, African finfoot, and Denham’s bustard among others.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park and game drive
Leave Masai Mara in the morning and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, which takes about 4 hours. Upon arrival, have lunch and later go for an evening game drive.
You will have a high chance of seeing Rothschild’s giraffes, cape buffaloes, olive baboons, impalas, waterbucks, hippos, colobus monkeys, spotted hyenas, zebras, gazelles, leopards, lions, and many birds.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Game drive and transfer back to Nairobi
Enjoy a morning game drive, then transfer back to Nairobi. If time allows, you can visit some attractions in Nairobi such as museums, art galleries, and local markets.
Later, the driver will drop you at the airport for your flight back home.
