This Serengeti-Ngorongoro & Zanzibar Safari takes you to the northern safari circuit of Tanzania. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park – sunset game drive
On arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, meet our company representative holding a placard with your name. The guide will brief you on the tour, then drive for about 6 to 7 hours to Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania. Enjoy lunch on the way. Arrive in the late afternoon for a sunset game drive, then head to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Game drive and Maasai cultural experience
Start the day with breakfast. After that, enjoy a 3 to 4-hour game drive in the open Savannah, especially around the Seronera area. Look out for animals like hippos, cheetahs, crocodiles, wildebeest, rhinos, lions, warthogs, buffaloes, elephants, and more. Your guide will help you identify different species by name and features.
After the game drive, have lunch, then visit a Maasai village for a cultural experience. The Maasai are known for cattle keeping and entertaining visitors with dance, stories, and their traditional outfits, which you are welcome to buy. End the day with dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
Wake up and have breakfast. Enjoy a two-hour guided nature walk with bird-watching before checking out of the lodge. On the way to Ngorongoro Crater, stop at Olduvai Gorge to learn about the early history of humans.
Continue to Ngorongoro, where the beautiful scenery welcomes you. Check in at the lodge, refresh, and relax before dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Full-day game drive
After breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Look for animals such as leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, and different types of antelopes. Take a lunch break, then continue the game drive in the afternoon as animals return to their resting places.
Ngorongoro Crater is one of the largest calderas in the world and is home to many prey and predators. End the day with dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 5: Fly to Zanzibar – Stone Town city tour
Have an early breakfast, then fly to Zanzibar. On arrival, meet our company representative who will brief you about the trip. Proceed to your lodge for check-in, then explore the historical Stone Town. This old city is full of cultural sites, ancient buildings, and old mosques.
Lunch will be served in town, then return to the lodge in the evening for refreshment, dinner, and overnight. Visitors are reminded to dress decently out of respect for local customs.
Day 6: Beach tour – swim with dolphins
After breakfast, enjoy a full day at the beach. Start with a dolphin tour that lasts about half a day. After the tour, have lunch, then spend the afternoon relaxing by the ocean, swimming, taking a canoe ride, or just enjoying the peaceful surroundings. In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Jozani-Chwaka Forest and departure
Start the day with breakfast, then visit Jozani-Chwaka National Park, the only national park in Zanzibar. Look out for the rare red colobus monkeys, birds, unique plants, and other primates.
After the guided walk, return to the lodge for lunch, check out, then transfer to the airport for your flight to your next destination or back home.
