Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and hotel transfer
Meet your safari guide at Nairobi airport. Drive to your hotel in Nairobi city. Check-in, relax, enjoy dinner, and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 2: Nairobi to Aberdare National Park
Have breakfast at the hotel and then begin your journey to Aberdare National Park in Nyeri County, about 150 km east of Nairobi.
This park is home to many animals like giraffes, elephants, bushbucks, warthogs, reedbucks, red duikers, giant forest hogs, lions, leopards, and elands.
Check in at your lodge, have lunch, and enjoy an afternoon game drive to look for wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Full day in Aberdare National Park
Enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives in Aberdare. Look out for cape buffaloes, leopards, elephants, warthogs, hyenas, duikers, golden cats, and other animals.
You will also see waterfalls, ridges, and grasslands during the drive. After lunch, go for another game drive before returning to the lodge for the night.
Day 4: Drive to Ol Pejeta, afternoon game drive
After breakfast, drive for about 3 hours to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Check in at the camp and have lunch. In the afternoon, go for a game drive where you may see lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, giraffes, gazelles, wild dogs, and more.
Day 5: Full day in Ol Pejeta
Start with an early morning game drive in Ol Pejeta. Look for animals like lions, hyenas, buffaloes, gazelles, and black rhinos.
Enjoy a packed lunch in the bush and continue with the afternoon game drive searching for more wildlife.
Day 6: Drive to Samburu, afternoon game drive
After breakfast, drive for about 5 hours to Samburu National Reserve. This reserve is famous for the “special five” which are reticulated giraffes, gerenuk, beisa oryx, Somali ostriches, and Grevy’s zebras.
In the afternoon, go for a game drive to look for these special animals and others like oribis, dik-diks, and klipspringers.
Day 7: Special five game viewing
After breakfast, go for a full-day game drive with your guide. Look for the special five, lions, leopards, giraffes, and many bird species. Return to the lodge or camp in the evening to relax.
Day 8: Samburu to Maasai Mara
Enjoy a short game drive in the morning as you leave Samburu. Look for any animals you might have missed earlier. Then take a flight to Maasai Mara National Reserve in Narok County.
Maasai Mara is famous for the highest number of wildlife and over 450 bird species.
Day 9: Full day game drive
After breakfast, start your full-day game drive in Maasai Mara. Look for animals like hartebeests, dik-diks, buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, jackals, rhinos, hyenas, giraffes, cheetahs, and many birds.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the Savannah and continue with the afternoon game drive.
Day 10: Depart
After breakfast, visit a Maasai village to learn about their culture, traditions, and enjoy dances and songs. After this cultural visit, drive back to Nairobi.
