This 3-Day Samburu National Park Safari is a great experience for anyone visiting Kenya. Samburu National Park is in the Samburu community, about 5 hours’ drive from Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city.
The park is famous as the home of Kamunyak, a lioness who adopted oryx calves on January 7, 2003.
The park is also home to many animals like leopards, cape buffaloes, elephants, zebras, lions, and many birds such as marabou storks, plovers, fish eagles, African woodpeckers, and owls.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Samburu National Park
After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi. You will be briefed about the safari and then start your journey to Samburu. On the way, you will pass through tea plantations and coffee farms.
Arrive in the afternoon, check in at your lodge, have lunch, and then go for an evening game drive at 3:00 pm. Look out for lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, and enjoy the views.
Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Full day game drive in Samburu National Park
Wake up early, enjoy a good breakfast, and prepare a packed lunch. Spend the day exploring the park to catch animals active in the cool morning hours.
See lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and antelopes before the day gets hot. Have a picnic lunch overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, which is very important to the animals in the park.
The river is known for many birds, buffaloes, elephants, zebras, giraffes, and other animals that come there to drink water and cool off.
You may also see many hippos and crocodiles. Continue game drives until late evening, then return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer to Nairobi
Wake early, have breakfast, and check out of your lodge. Go for a final morning game drive to see any animals you missed earlier.
After the drive, leave the park and head back to Nairobi. Have lunch on the way. Your driver will drop you at your hotel or at the airport, depending on your flight time.
